(a.k.a. the "Please Don't Sue Us, Just Get to Safety" Agreement)

Welcome to No Hype Weather! We're glad you're here, and even gladder that you're taking severe weather seriously — because so do we. Before you dive in, here's the deal, in plain English. No fine-print gymnastics, we promise.

The Short Version (Read At Least This Part)

  • Weather is one of the most unpredictable things on Earth. We can't promise our forecasts and alerts will always be accurate or arrive in time.
  • No Hype Weather is a helpful tool, not your only lifeline. Keep a backup plan going — NOAA weather radio, local news, official National Weather Service alerts, outdoor sirens, or that one neighbor who always seems to know a storm's coming before anyone else.
  • You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of those in your care. If sirens are blaring, the sky looks like a disaster-movie set, or your gut says "take cover" — go. Don't wait on a push notification from us.
  • If your power goes out, your internet drops, your phone dies, or our software has a bad day, that's on the universe, not on us. Technology fails sometimes; the atmosphere does not care.

Good with that? Great. Here's the fuller (still short) version.

1. What This App Does — and Doesn't Do

No Hype Weather pulls together weather data and alerts to help you stay informed about severe weather nearby. We built it because we genuinely care about keeping people safe — but we are not meteorologists standing on your roof with a radar gun, and we cannot control the weather (we have tried asking nicely; the atmosphere is unmoved).

Forecasting severe weather is part science, part educated guessing, and part "well, the atmosphere does what it wants." Storms can form, shift, strengthen, or vanish faster than any app — ours included — can track. We do not guarantee that our alerts will be complete, accurate, or delivered in time to be useful.

2. You're in Charge of Your Own Safety

Using No Hype Weather doesn't transfer your judgment, safety, or well-being to us — that stays with you, always. During severe weather:

  • Follow official guidance from the National Weather Service, local emergency management, and first responders.
  • Use multiple sources of information: TV, radio, a weather radio, official emergency alerts, outdoor sirens, and yes, common sense.
  • Never wait on a notification from us before taking shelter. If something feels dangerous, act first and check the app later.

3. No Guarantees, No Warranties, No Magic

No Hype Weather is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind — express, implied, or the kind your lawyer wishes we'd offer. We don't promise the app will be error-free, always available, perfectly secure, or immune to the occasional software gremlin.

We are not liable for any injury, death, property damage, lost plans, or generally bad day resulting from:

  • Reliance on information, forecasts, or alerts provided through the app;
  • Power outages, internet outages, cellular network issues, or any other piece of infrastructure deciding to take a personal day;
  • Software bugs, app crashes, delayed or missed notifications, or any other technical hiccup — however inconvenient or poorly timed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for anything related to the app is limited to the amount you paid to use it — and if you're using it for free, well, you can see where that math ends up.

4. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time (hopefully not mid-tornado-warning). Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

5. Questions?

Reach out at [email protected] with any questions about these terms. If you're in the middle of a weather emergency right now, though — close this app and go find shelter first. We'll still be here once the storm passes.

6. Subscriptions, Billing, Renewal & Cancellation

Paid subscriptions. No Hype Weather offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock premium features. The basic app remains available without a subscription. Current plans:

  • Monthly Subscription: $9.99 USD, billed monthly.
  • Annual Subscription: $110.99 USD (App Store) or $110.00 USD (Google Play), billed yearly.
  • No Hype Super Supporter: $90.00 USD, billed monthly. This unlocks the same features as the monthly plan. It exists for people who want to fund the mission beyond what it costs them to use it.
  • Founders Annual Subscription: $99.99 USD per year, billed annually. Closed to new subscribers — see “Founders pricing” below.

Prices may vary by country and may include applicable taxes. The price shown in the app before you buy is the price you pay.

Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account (App Store) or your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. All billing is handled by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment card details.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. Auto-renewal is how the subscription keeps working without interruption. It is not a trick, but we want you to know about it up front.

How to cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → No Hype Weather
  • Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → No Hype Weather

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. If you cancel, you keep premium access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods or unused features, except where required by law. Because Apple and Google process all payments, refund requests must go through them:

Price changes. If we change subscription prices, we will notify you in advance as required by Apple or Google. Where required, you'll be asked to accept the new price before it applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Founders pricing. Founders subscribers keep the $99.99/year rate for as long as their subscription stays active without interruption. If a Founders subscription is canceled or lapses, re-subscribing will be at the then-current price.

Changes to features. We may add, change, or remove features over time. A subscription gives you access to premium features as they exist during your subscription period. It is not a promise that any specific feature will be available forever. Weather is unpredictable, and so is software development.

By using No Hype Weather, you agree to these terms. Stay safe out there — we track the weather, but we don't control it.
